Ultrasound #2

Yesterday was our second ultrasound. The doctors are concerned about a slightly enlarged kidney so are keeping an eye on it. After watching more closely what they were doing I am having a hard time getting excited/worried about this. I know they are professionals and obviously know more than I do but they are measuring in millimeters on a screen with a moving object. It reminds me of our ArcMap measuring at work and it you are not zoomed in really close you can be off by 30 feet. I figure if it is all relative then a milimeter or two is not maajor cause for worry. I will have faith in the doctors but this rationale on my part will keep me sane and calm. After they got their measurements they got a couple of views of the babies face for us. She is getting chubbier and more filled out. She head butted the ultrasound wand once and when we went to look at her again she was opening and closing her mouth. We think she might have been sassing the technician so we left her alone. Oh I hope this is not a view to the future.

Birthday Day

Yesterday was Tuck's official birthday so he got to open more presents. He just loved this little barn. It makes all the farm animal noises. He played and played with it and went back to it first thing this morning. Once I get it put up on his little table he will really enjoy it.
We had spaghetti for dinner, that is why he is sans shirt.
Tuck took cupcakes to daycare and all of his daycare friends made him cards. They were the cutest things. We will keep them in his box of keepsakes.

I Love Lucy

Does this not remind you of the scene where Lucy and Ethel were making the wine? I laughed and laughed. And it is too bad that Tuck will probably never get the reference.....

Tuck's 2nd Birthday

Well, it was a huge success. Last Sat we had Tuck's birthday party. All of the grandparents, TJ's brother Scott and his 2 kids, and my Grandma and Aunt Mary all made it. Tuck was showing off for everyone before the real festivities began and really hamming it up.
He loved tearing off the paper of his presents.
Putting his cardboard blocsk together gave a whole new meaning to the Block Party. Mommy was the first one to complete one but everyone got in on the fun although others had other names for it. They were an engineering feat.
Tuck wasn't too sure about everyone staring at him and singing. He got pretty shy and then didn't want to blow out the candles. He finally got it figured out and then wanted us to keep relighting them.
Papaw and Daddy went to work putting all of the new toys together. Uncle Scott helped open up all of his new trucks. You can see that Tuck was helping out as well. He got pretty good with the allen wrench. And he loves playing at his new table.
But the biggest hit of the day was the new Hot Wheels tricycle. He has been doing laps around the house ever since and just laughs and laughs as he cruises.

Initiation to the Blog

Hello all. This is my first attempt at blogging. I am so excited. Yesterday was a big, no HUGE, day for the Tuckman. We went to a pool party with the Hinds family. All of the aunts and uncles were there and most of the cousins. It took Tuck a while to get warmed up to everyone but once he did-look out! He spent all day in the pool. If someone would make him get out, he would convince someone else into taking him back in, usually by pulling your finger and pointing. He is a real charmer. By the end of the afternoon he was jumping off the side and into someone's arms. Fearless. I kept him lubed up with sunscreen since I fear dealing with him and sunburn with his glow in the dark fair skin. Mommy on the other hand was trying to counter her farmer tan and is suffering badly for her poor choices. Then we went to another friend's for a BBQ that evening. TJ and his friend John had been playing in a softball tournament and decided at the last minute to get together. It was fun but we had one exhausted little napless boy on our hands. Needless to say he slept in this morning and is down for a nap now. What a good little social butterfly he is.
