Southern Exposure

Yeah for Tucker, he pottied standing up for the first time.  It all started with turning on the hose, all by himself and creating a mud puddle.  He then spent some time stomping and stirring with his camo boots.  Once it was the proper mud consistency he began jumping and splashing.  Needless to say he was pretty dirty in no time.  Thus the stripping at the back door which led to streaking in the backyard and then pottying.DSC01433

Hooray for Tucker!!!

Love Those Toes

Playing Doctor

Tucker decided today that he was playing doctor.  He has a cat toy that he is using as a stethoscope.  He put the one end in his ear and put the other end on Kora’s back.  He is so observant and creative.

My Little Girl is Starting to Sit Up

Yep, it’s true.  She is getting more and more stable.  She is starting to sit up on her own.  This is given a very stable base of wide stance legs and it still only last a couple of minutes.  Then over she topples.

You can see, too, her new gDiapers.  We do cloth diapers on the weekends.  I have a few different kinds but these new finds are so nice.  They are THE softest things next to her little bum.  And I feel so much better not throwing so many disposables in the trash.  It’s amazing how fast they add up.  My small attempt at being green.

So Handsome

DSC01350I took these at breakfast this morning.  The lighting was just perfect coming in the dining room window. DSC01352 DSC01355 Thank you to my friend Brook for teaching me to shut off the flash and appreciate the shadows.DSC01356 DSC01358

My handsome boy.  Luckily I caught these before he become the monster of norm.  He went to the corner at least 3 times today for telling me “no”, for throwing toys at Kora and for spitting.  Ahhh, boys.  But these moments of beauty negate all of those bad ones.  Psst, I love you.

SURPRISE!!!

Tuck helped me clean out the Tupperware cupboard today.

Mini Pedi

Does this count as a mini pedi.  I only had this much time before little creatures started demanding attention.

I hope I have time this week to finish.  No sandals this week…..

Future Gold Prospector

Today we went to Indianapolis for the GPAA Expo.  They had all sorts of booths selling anything gold related from jewelry to dredges and pans, even ziploc containers of material guaranteed to have gold in it for the bargain price of $20. TJ has invested in all of this in the past (you may remember that he was waiting to find enough to make my ring before proposing and I decided I didn’t want to wait that long) and he is hoping to get back to it again now that Tuck is getting older.

So here is our little prospector in training.  First you gather up your material from the bottom of the “creek”.

DSC01282Then you swirl the daylights out of it to separate the gold (it’s heavy and sinks to the bottom of the pan).DSC01278

Then you dunk it some more.DSC01279

Then you swirl some more.DSC01280

And finally you “pour” off the lighter material and see what treasure you have found.DSC01281

I think he will be a natural.

Who Needs Christmas, I Got Teeth!

Can you see those pearly whites?  She got them both in within 24 hours of each other.  And now she is not shy about using them.  You don’t stick your fingers in there anymore.  She’ll bring tears to your eyes.DSC01252 DSC01253She is so funny with the faces she makes now.  She loves “playing” with them with her tongue and bottom lip.  These antics result in the funniest faces.  But she won’t perform for the camera. DSC01261 And here are some slobber bubbles.  DSC01265

I love you smiley girl.  I treasure every moment with you and the smiles you bring to my life.

Creative Me

I actually got some me time today.  Both kids went down for a nap at the same time so I got to start on a project.  And then Grandma Deb and Papaw announced a surprise grandkid day; aka: Tucker overnighter.  And since TJ is at the cabin and Kora is such a good napper and early to bed, I got all of these finished today.  Yeah me!!!

This one will have a matching necklace but that will have to wait for another day.DSC01268

This one is my favorite.  This way I can keep them close to me whenever I am waxing nostalgic.

DSC01272

This one I will probably add a pendant to.  I am still trying to figure out how to make it removable.

DSC01275

And this one has matching earrings but I made them a while back and don’t have them handy for presentation purposes.DSC01276

These are actually the only things I have made.  I got hooked from my mom and my friend Deb.  I have been purchasing beads regularly but not completing many projects, until today.  So now it will be my goal to complete some of the projects I have accumulated before I can go buy more beads.  Unless, of course, there is a good sale, then all bets are off.

Can You Say Peep-Toe Pump

OK, I admit it.  I am spreading my wings.  If you know me well, you know I am a tennis shoes, Keen sandal, hiking boot kinda gal.  I have never been one to have fancy shoes let alone wear them.  BUT, I am in training.DSC01226 DSC01229 DSC01230 Just check these babies out.  I just got them in the mail and I have been wearing them around the house all afternoon.  I cannot wait until my next meeting so I can wear them.  I will have to plan my whole outfit around MY NEW SHOES.DSC01237Can you tell I am excited about turning over this new leaf?  I blame it on too much “What Not To Wear” while on maternity leave. Gotta love that TLC channel.  Clinton and Stacy would be SO PROUD!!!!DSC01242 DSC01249

Can you say Patent Leather details?!!!!  I am in love!

Dear Manitou

Dear Kora.  Today I was driving thru Lafayette and had a flashback to the day Daddy and I saw your first ultrasound.  The technician was able to tell us that you were going to be a girl.  It was tough news for Daddy, afterward we had to go to dinner and he had a beer.  We had not been able to come up with ANY girl names.  Neither one of us could come up with a single one we liked (and later ended up having to resort to the name books from the library where once we came across Kora there was no more discussion) At any rate, on this day, and on our way to dinner Daddy decided that the next street sign would determine your name.  Luckily we were not heading east or it would have been 10th Street.  Instead the next street was Manitou.  Aren't you glad we resorted to the name books?

Happy Mother’s Day to Me

Saturday we celebrated Mother’s Day with our mothers.  TJ’s mom, my mom and Aunt Mary all came over for dinner.  We ate like kings.  TJ is such a good cook, especially pork chops on the grill. HPIM1131

Can you see my orange necklace?  Tucker made it for me at Preschool.  It has a pendant with Tucker’s picture on it.  It is so cute.HPIM1138I am the luckiest Mama in the world to have two such amazing kids.   HPIM1139
