Tuck’s new golf clubs

Tucker got new golf clubs for Christmas.  We only got them out of the box this week.  He looks so cute with them.  They are legitimate golf clubs and should last until he is 5 or so as long as he doesn’t use them as hatchets.  There is a driver, an iron and a putter.  The driver even has a “sock” on it.  Here he is stealing more balls and tees from Daddy’s bag.  He’s gotta get the basics.

FORE!!!

Filling in the Hole

A few weeks ago our well went out.  Turns out the electrical line from the well to the house went out.  Luckily it was not the well pump itself.  That would have been costly.  Instead they just had to dig a new trench and lay a new line.  We only were without water for 2 days. Now we have a big trench that needs filled in.  TJ and Tucker have been working on it most evenings, trying to get it leveled out.

JUMP-A-ROO

Kora has graduated to the Jump-a-roo.  We had lent it to a friend and they just brought it back.  TJ set it up and had Kora into it.  I would have thought she was too little but she likes it.  Her little chin barely clears the shelf but she likes it (for about 10 minutes).

She is still surprised by the flashing lights.DSC00613

Thanks Dad!  I love it!

Here Chick Chick

Last night we took the kids to the Mini Mont Farm Festival.  Tucker loved petting the animals, especially the “Hee” (horse for those who do not speak toddler). He also got to gather eggs from the nests.IMG_0389

There were no hens standing guard so no pecked fingers.  I was so afraid he was going to drop the eggs or throw them in the basket and make such a mess, but he did so good and was so careful.  I later discovered that they were hard-boiled eggs.

I am going to have this boy trained for our own chickens in no time.

Fingers and Toes

These are some of the pictures that our friend Ed took of Kora.  He put them together in this collage.  Isn’t she just the most beautiful?  Yeah, I know, I always say that.  But it’s a mommy’s prerogative.

Oh Happy Day

Yippee.  It is my first day back in pre-preggo pants.  They are ones with lots of spandex but by golly I'm taking credit for this red letter day!  Thank goodness for breast feeding.  I may do this until I'm back to a size 5 or until she starts school, whichever comes first.  HA

Our Little Helper

TJ has been taking the shutters off our house.  They are faded and falling apart and I think the house will look even better without them.

Tucker helped TJ out one day last week.  Of course his version of helping includes randomly taking off with tools, and sometimes hitting TJ’s knuckles.DSC00523

Here he is taking off with said toolsDSC00518 DSC00520

And here he is fetching the screwdriver after he threw it off the deck.  Don’t you just love how he has to look out from under his hat?

A Day With Nanny Hoo Hoo

DSC00437 This is my Grandma on my Dad’s side of the family.  She is the only Grandma I have left and so the only Great Grandma that the kids have.  Nanny got her name because when we were little she used to stop by the house, poke her head in the door and say “hoo hooo, is anyone home?”.  Thus Nanny Hoo Hoo.  To this day she is still Grandma Nanny (technically isn’t that redundant?).DSC00438Nanny loves her little ones.  She is even a great-great grandma and there really aren’t enough greats to put in front of that if you ask me.  She is one of a kind with the greatest sense of humor and latent ornerynous.  We always thought grandma had to put up with her 3 ornery boys but instead I think the boys were ornery because of grandma.  She is just so funny.  I will have to expand on this further in a later blog.DSC00439 DSC00440

IS THAT SASQUATCH??!!

Baby Chickens

We all went to the Tractor Supply Store on Sat and Tuck got to see the baby chickens.DSC00543DSC00550

He let Mommy hold one so he could pet it.  He was so gentle with it.  I was so proud of him.

One day I hope to have some chickens in a portable grazing pen in the orchard so Tuck and Kora can have chores.  Hopefully next spring.

So Tired

Kora had a big day of visiting with friends and family and some shopping.  She didn’t even make it through dinner with us.  She got her thumb in her mouth and literally nodded off.

My poor sleepy girl.  She stayed like this for about 10 minutes while I cleared the table; then I took pity on her poor little neck and now she is sleeping on my shoulder while I type this.  I love my little snuggle bum.

Five Question Friday

Rules: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then come on back and link up!  It's a fun, easy post and it's all about you.

Questions for Friday March 5th

1. What's your guilty pleasure?
My secret dark chocolate stash that I raid every day at 2 pm like clockwork even without an alarm.  It's an internal alarm I guess and I never skip a day.

2. What is your favorite TV series?
Big Bang Theory.  Those science nerds just crack me up.  I just love a good science joke, especially when you are not expecting it.

3. Can you speak a foreign language?
Does sign language count?  We taught Tucker sign lanuage when he was about 6 months old and still continue with it.  Granted we have less than 20 words, i think, but it is still helps a lot.

4. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Let's see: at least 2 pair of cowboy boots from my younger past life
1 pair of tennis shoes
3 nice sandals
2 casual sandals
2 Keen's
2 Crocs
2 work/hiking boots
2 rubber boots
1 suade ugg-like boot
2 slippers (do those count as shoes)
3 Clarks
6 dress shoes
That makes at least 20 but after 2 pregnancy's 90% of them don't fit; my feet grew at least one size.

5. What is your favorite kind of M&;M's?
Dark Chocolate.  You can't mess with an M by adding nuts or PB.

Random Thought-Disney Rocks

I am at work and I currently have Disney Channel theme songs running through my head.  And I'm pretty sure I could do the choreographed dance that goes with it.  "I think what the situation needs is some Imagination..." and a do-see-do down the hall to the bathroom.
