OK, I admit it.  I am spreading my wings.  If you know me well, you know I am a tennis shoes, Keen sandal, hiking boot kinda gal.  I have never been one to have fancy shoes let alone wear them.  BUT, I am in training.   Just check these babies out.  I just got them in the mail and I have been wearing them around the house all afternoon.  I cannot wait until my next meeting so I can wear them.  I will have to plan my whole outfit around MY NEW SHOES.Can you tell I am excited about turning over this new leaf?  I blame it on too much “What Not To Wear” while on maternity leave. Gotta love that TLC channel.  Clinton and Stacy would be SO PROUD!!!!

Dear Manitou

Dear Kora.  Today I was driving thru Lafayette and had a flashback to the day Daddy and I saw your first ultrasound.  The technician was able to tell us that you were going to be a girl.  It was tough news for Daddy, afterward we had to go to dinner and he had a beer.  We had not been able to come up with ANY girl names.  Neither one of us could come up with a single one we liked (and later ended up having to resort to the name books from the library where once we came across Kora there was no more discussion) At any rate, on this day, and on our way to dinner Daddy decided that the next street sign would determine your name.  Luckily we were not heading east or it would have been 10th Street.  Instead the next street was Manitou.  Aren't you glad we resorted to the name books?

Happy Mother’s Day to Me

 

Saturday we celebrated Mother’s Day with our mothers.  TJ’s mom, my mom and Aunt Mary all came over for dinner.  We ate like kings.  TJ is such a good cook, especially pork chops on the grill.

Can you see my orange necklace?  Tucker made it for me at Preschool.  It has a pendant with Tucker’s picture on it.  It is so cute.I am the luckiest Mama in the world to have two such amazing kids.

Weekend At The Cabin

 

We all went to the cabin over the weekend.  It was forecasted to rain but it held off on Saturday until after we all went to bed. 

Kora took it all in.  She was in such high fashion since I did not pack enough of her warm clothes and it was chillier than I was expecting.

You can see the corn hole game in the background.  Tucker was in the middle of that as well as on the four-wheeler with anyone who would take him. 

Tucker LOVED going fishing. 

He even caught one. And like any good fisherman it only gets bigger with each telling.  It is now as big as he can reach when he talks about his “BIG Fish”.  That’s one monster bluegill.  He was so funny when he caught it.  He was hollering for me, dancing, clapping and singing “yeah me!”

Tucker loved the new Gator.  He put on his seat belt each time he went out.  This was the first time I had been in it and I was kind of scared when taking it on the hills on the wet grass. Tuck loved helping reel in the fishing pole.  He was such a good helper and just could not get enough fishing. 

The cabin is going to be quite the adventure for us all.
