Ear Infection, Still

 

This is Dr Joshi our pediatrician.  We love her and her staff.  They make doctor visits, if not fun, then at least more tolerable.

2 weeks ago the kids and I were all sick.  I had bronchitis and they each had ear infections.  We went yesterday for follow up checks.  Tuck was fine but alas Kora still has hers.  In fact this is lingering from late May/early June.  She has been on amoxicillin, cefdinir, and now we are starting augmentin.  I dread this one because I know what it does to my stomach.  If it doesn’t work she will get a shot of antibiotic and the next step will be a visit to an ear nose and throat specialist for tubes.  Dr Joshi says she is just so little and her ear canals are so little that they just aren’t draining.  Couple this with teething and our little girl is just a mess.  She is a lot like the Tuckman though and you just don’t know for sure that she is sick.  She doesn’t run a fever and just isn't a fussy baby.  It’s really minor things that even indicate she is sick.  I sure hope we can get this infection under control.
