Weekend At The Cabin

Kora got to stay at home with Grandma Connie while Tuck and I went on a weekend adventure to the cabin.  TJ had gone down on Fri and Tuck and I headed south on Sat morning.  I was looking so forward to spending some quality time with my boys and I was not disappointed.

On the way down I told Tuck that if he took a nap in the car then he would be able to play as soon as we got there and he would not have to have a nap.  He immediately shut his eyes and started with the fake “honk-shoe’s” but it didn’t take long before he was asleep for real.

So once we got there it was off to the adventures.  And fishing was high on the list.  When we left Crawfordsville, Tuck looked out the window and said “Here I come, fishies.  I am going to catch you.”  And so he did with three of them.  Here he is looking for his next victim.DSC02116DSC02117

Daddy helped him cast the line.

And here is Savannah, Uncle Nolic’s granddaughter.  Tuck finally called Nolic by name and I thought I was going to fall out of the campchair laughing.  He calls him “No-Nuts”.  Nolic did not think it was as funny as I did. DSC02119 DSC02122

This picture cracks me up because THIS is exactly how Papaw stands, with that little hip jaunt.  I hate to admit it but there is a bit of me in that stance too. DSC02123

And here is the big bluegill.  Microseconds after this shot, the fish flopped and Tuck took off running for the cabin, never to reel another one in again.  There will be more.DSC02125 (2)

And THIS is the Hunting Hilton.  The big boys have been working on this bad boy all summer.  (Yes, it was only supposed to take a weekend).  It is 4x8 with a door and window on the back, windows on each end and the two on the front.  Yes that is 5 windows.  The bottom of the windows are 16’ up in the air. There will be no sneaky deer here, they will be seen.  DSC02105 And of course they HAD to build this so that Tuck would have a safe place to hunt from.  There is carpet on the floor and talk of heaters, and who knows, maybe wireless.DSC02106 DSC02107 Oh, did I mention the seating arrangements? Pretty luxurious, eh?DSC02108I love this picture.  See Tuck’s hands?  That was how he held on the whole time, to my wrists.  That way he thought he was in control.  There was the one time that I hit the start button not realizing that he was holding the throttle.  Mommy ALMOST got dumped and we went SO FAST.  Oh, that’s Uncle No-nuts in the background. 1. 1. Susannah, that is TOTALLY your stance. Hand on the opposite hip from the one most people would hold.
    2. Poor uncle No-nuts.
    3. I think I'll dare to say that hunting structure is cute!
